Loughborough Lions is a partner club of Loughborough Students that was originally set-up to help develop local junior players in 2005 by Steve Jones. It began with just one session a week for all young talented athletes to attend and has now grown into a partner club for Loughborough Students offering numerous opportunities for students whilst at Loughborough University or for graduates that stay in the Leicestershire area. |

Loughborough Lions Mission Statements
-
‘Initially to help young players reach their maximum potential by providing quality coaching and learning experiences in a safe, equitable, child friendly environment.’
- Loughborough Lions Volleyball club is committed to the improvement of volleyball players, coaches, volunteers and referees in the Charnwood area. It is the goal for all participants to learn a love for the sport of volleyball, to develop as players who are fundamentally and technically sound, and to be able to play against the best competition both locally, regionally and nationally.’
For the 2008-9 season Loughborough Lions will be running a ‘Students Development Squad’ for 18 talented female players that didn’t make it into the National League squads. This will support their continued development and hopefully enable them to force their way into the club teams in future years.
Loughborough Lions will also be running some mixed teams from the recreational section of the club in the Leicestershire Local league for an additional bolt on fee of £15 for the year.
